May was a fantastic month of support from the great State of Michigan!

Several key CRA projects have recently received essential funding from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).

Through EGLE’s Dam Risk Reduction Grant Program, funding was awarded for the removal of the Baldwin Fish Hatchery Dam on the Baldwin River, as well as for the planned removal of the Rugg Pond Dam in Kalkaska County.

CRA and the Rugg Pond Dam Removal Project also received support from the DNR’s Fisheries Habitat Grant Program for design and permitting. In addition, this program awarded funding for the construction of stream crossing improvements on Cedar Run and Victoria Creek in Leelanau County.

With continued uncertainty at the federal level, it’s inspiring to see our state partners stepping up to support CRA, our collaborators, and so many other conservation-focused organizations across Michigan.

Thank you!
