Guided Birding Walk at the Boardman River

May 8 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
(Free)

Join us on the morning of Friday, May 8, from 9–11 AM at the Brown Bridge Quiet Area Canoe Launch for a guided birding walk led by CRA’s Executive Director, Suzie Knoll. Whether you’re an experienced birder or simply curious about our feathered friends, this walk is welcoming to all skill levels.

Located along the Boardman-Ottaway River, this area was once submerged beneath a 191-acre impoundment for decades. In 2012, the Brown Bridge Dam was removed through a collaborative restoration effort led by CRA and project partners, allowing the river and surrounding landscape to return to a more natural state.

Today, the site is managed by the Grand Traverse Conservation District and has become a thriving habitat, rich with plant, aquatic, and bird life. Join us to experience this remarkable transformation firsthand.

Enjoy complimentary coffee and cookies, generously provided by Mundos Roasting & Co.

This event is free, but registration is required below.
