Hemlock woolly adelgid- Invasive Species Survey- Free

Hemlock woolly adelgid, an invasive species, is trying to move northward in Michigan along the Lake Michigan shoreline. It is currently in Mason County and the Mason-Lake Conservation District is working hard to contain it. They are partnering with Northwest Michigan Invasive Species Network and The Charlevoix, Antrim, Kalkaska, and Emmet Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area to do surveys on private lands during the winter months for this little bug. The lakeshore counties from Oceana up to the bridge are those where the survey work is focused.
