Saving Birds Thru Habitat Executive Director Kay Charter recently recognized Eric Ellis as the Conservation Partner of the Year. Eric has been a Habitat Wildlife Biologist for CRA since 2007. Over the years, he and Charter have worked on a variety of conservation projects including an annual native tree and shrub giveaway, writing a habitat management plan for the Charter Sanctuary, the installation of chimney swift towers and a school tree planting project with the Children’s House.
Charter noted, “Working with Eric has been an absolute joy. He is knowledgeable. He is dedicated to conservation. He has great integrity and he is right on target regarding habitat issues. He also has a terrific sense of humor and a laugh that would make anyone smile.”
Also honored were Don and Ellen Weinacht for restoring a bird friendly wetland in West Texas.
