Conservation Resource Alliance Hosts Biennial Meeting

The Conservation Resource Alliance (CRA) is hosting its biennial meeting on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hagerty Center on Northwest Michigan College’s Great Lakes Campus. The event is an opportunity for regional, state, and federal agencies, private interest groups, and conservation partners to celebrate successes and explore challenges in natural resources management. Highlights include a keynote address from Andy Buchsbaum, Director of the National Wildlife Federation’s Great Lakes office, the Great Lakes Natural Resources Center and special guest, Ann Mills, USDA Deputy Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment. The cost is $15, includes a buffet lunch, and the public is encouraged to attend.
Established in 1968, the Conservation Resource Alliance is a private, non-profit organization that coordinates sensible stewardship of the land throughout northwest Michigan. CRA has facilitated natural resource conservation projects for over 40 years, tackling high-priority problems that threaten to degrade Michigan’s world-class waterways, landscapes, and rich wildlife diversity. To register for the biennial meeting or for more information about this event and CRA’s projects and how to get involved, contact the Conservation Resource Alliance at (231) 946-6817, via e-mail at info@rivercare.org, or visit CRA’s web site at www.rivercare.org.
