The water quality of the Little Manistee River got a little better this fall with the completion of a paving project at the DeWitt’s Bridge crossing in Lake County’s Elk Township. Last year, the Great Lakes Commission’s Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Program awarded a $39,000 grant to the Little Manistee Watershed Conservation Council, who teamed up with Traverse City based Conservation Resource Alliance to help design and implement the project.
